So often we are approached by concerned volunteers who feel compelled to do more than simply make a donation. These adventurers want to have an experience! MSPP has also seen a rapid increase in interest from colleges and universities in both the United States and Guatemala. So we have recently begun to develop an International Service Program. This program is designed to allow MSPP to connect individuals, groups, colleges and organizations from the United States with families, communities and organizations from developing countries to create high impact community driven projects, share inter cross-cultural experiences and grow caring international relationships. These trips will typically include service days and a few fun days exploring the beauty of our host country.
Our last two service trips to Guatemala have been very successful. Our hope is to provide the families in Virginia with two medical/ dental clinics a year. They are also looking for help with a school reconstruction project. This project includes the addition of two classrooms to their school, composting toilets and remodeling of the school kitchen.
Even though MSPP has not yet been to Zambia we would like to extend our service program to that region as well. It is our hope to make an initial look and see trip this year so that we can help them develop sustainable programs and better address the needs of the families in Lukulu.
If you are interested in making a service trip to one of these regions please contact us.
